AsZension Is a Canadian progressive/instrumental band formed by Kevin Thiessen and Calvin Shiu in 2007, which focuses on fusing metal and progressive rock with a wide array of instrumentation, ethnic soundscapes and musical styles. The band's self-titled debut album was released on January 1st 2012 and also features drummer Kyle Sheppard with guest appearances by guitarist Evan Arnott and bassist David Philippe, plus a bonus vocal performance by Geoff Ross on the band's tribute of the 1974 Gentle Giant classic ''Playing The Game''.
